    TLDR

    • ETH trades near $2,486 with a 24-hour volume of $13.71 billion and a market cap of $303.56 billion.
    • Resistance sits at $2,520–$2,530, while support holds at $2,360–$2,370, according to analyst Crypto Patel.
    • Trading volume rose 10.28% to $38.44 billion, and open interest climbed 2.43% to $33.87 billion.
    • Abraxas Capital bought 13,000 ETH worth $32.39 million to hedge a 141,180 ETH short position on Hyperliquid.
    • A confirmed close above $2,530 could open the path toward $3,000, while a break below $2,370 risks a drop to $2,000.

Ethereum is trading at $2,486.72 as of this writing. The price has stayed mostly flat over the past 24 hours. Trading volume sits at $13.71 billion, and the market cap is $303.56 billion.

The coin is stuck in a tight range. Buyers keep defending support, while sellers cap gains near the top of that range.

Analyst Crypto Patel shared a chart on X showing ETH consolidating after a sharp move higher. The post pointed to $2,520–$2,530 as firm resistance and $2,360–$2,370 as the support zone underneath.

Price Is Repeatedly Testing The Upper Boundary But Failing To Secure A Sustained Breakout, Indicating Strong… pic.twitter.com/CNPsqiuudu

Patel noted that price has been rejected repeatedly near the upper boundary. That pattern points to steady selling pressure at those levels.

A confirmed 2-hour candle close above $2,530 would mark a bullish signal. That kind of move could open a path toward $3,000.

A break below $2,370 would tell a different story. Patel’s post flagged $2,000 as the next downside target if that support gives way.

    Technical Indicators Show Momentum Reset

TradingView data shows ETH rallied from around $1,900 before settling into this range. Price now sits above both the 20 EMA at $2,483.57 and the 50 EMA at $2,467.76.

That stacked EMA structure still points to an uptrend. The Relative Strength Index has cooled to 54.72, down from above 90 during the earlier breakout.

An RSI near 55 sits in neutral territory. It suggests the market has worked through its overbought phase without a sharp reversal.

    Ethereum Price on CoinGecko

Coinglass data shows trading volume rose 10.28% to $38.44 billion. Open interest also grew, up 2.43% to $33.87 billion.

Rising volume alongside rising open interest points to more traders entering positions. That combination often comes before a period of higher volatility.

    Whale Activity Signals Caution

Lookonchain reported on X that Abraxas Capital bought 13,000 ETH, worth $32.39 million. The firm still holds a short position of 141,180 ETH, worth $353.27 million, on Hyperliquid.

The spot purchase appears to be a hedge against that short. If ETH rises, the spot holding offsets losses on the short side.

If ETH falls instead, the short position benefits while the spot buy limits the gain. The setup shows a firm holding both sides of the trade at once.

Separate technical data puts ETH’s MACD histogram near zero, with the coin trading close to $2,509 on some exchanges. Support in that dataset sits near $2,462, with resistance near $2,534.

Retail traders were shown holding a 70.5% net long position, compared with 57.6% among larger traders. The next move for ETH now depends on whether buyers can clear $2,530 resistance or sellers push price back toward the $2,370 support zone.
